I’m sorry for the past year of inactivity.
The truth is writing became a chore, something I procrastinated doing. This broke my heart as someone who spent four years studying Creative Writing at university. Despite the emotional conflict I felt at first, stepping away was the right decision. This year off has left me refreshed, energised and ready to start afresh. I’ve spent this time building a new website, working on my first novel and learning how to brand myself as an author.Now, I cannot wait to rejoin the world of blogging.
Who Am I?
My name is Em. I’m a children’s writer and makeup lover from Cheshire. I came up with the concept for Bookish Beauty whilst working as a Boots Beauty Specialist and studying for my masters degree.
In January, my family adopted a sixteen-year-old Jack Russell Terrier named Ruby. She is a diva and I love her with all my heart.
Aims For the Blog
With Bookish Beauty, I want to merge the online book and beauty communities and create a beginner friendly space where people can learn, connect and discover new things.
What to Expect
My aim is to produce one blog post a week alternating between bookish and beauty themes. I want to post regularly on social media and engage with both communities.
I’m really excited for this new chapter and would be thrilled to have you along for the ride.
